This is Manolo, our lead guide of the Peru trek. He’s the best. Before our hike, he shared a few words with our team, which stuck with me on our 10 day trek along the Andes to Machu Picchu, and still remain in my head now the trek is finished: There is no easy. It’s all uphill or downhill. To succeed in this journey, it’s less about the physical strength, and more in the mindset. If you ask, will I make it? That’s a question lacking in confidence, and we need confidence, and trust. Trust in each other. We go as a team, so we don’t leave anyone behind. And lastly, Mother Nature is alive, so take a moment to speak to the mountains, as they will talk back. Thank you Manolo.

It’s all really lovely, but I like the ‘lastly’ bit the best.
