Caught by Flickr

wanted.gif

During Topshop’s London Fashion Week, a theft occured. Two black apple macbooks went missing from the venue at Covent Garden. Both these macbooks were set up to automatically upload photos taken using Photobooth to Topshop’s flickr account and the Topshop London Fashion Week website.

Now imagine our enjoyment when yesterday we noticed some new faces on our flickr account.

If you happen to have any information on the possible perpetrators, leave a comment here or here (Flickr) .

A poem found in a forum

Was browsing the Flickr forum to see if it was possible to give a gift card for a pro account to a non-flickr user (not upgrade).

I didn’t find what I was looking for, but I did stumble over a post that I found very poetic.

It’s written by Guido_A._Waldenmeier, and titled, “Ways to give a pro account back that come as a gift by

i have as a gift for chrismas

but i will give this back
to much troble with it (personal problems)
about this gift i become.
sorry my bad english it s not my native one

The original thread is closed (due of a lack of responses over the last month) and Guido is no longer a Flick user.

Satelliteâ„¢ 1.0 and Dreamhost

Yesterday I posted a link to a web application called Satellite that allows you to mirror the photos you have in your Flickr account to a personal and customised webpage.

If you, like me, host with Dreamhost, Satellite won’t work “out of the box” (at least not version 1.0). The application uses a PHP function called ‘file_get_contents’ that has (due for security reasons) been disabled by Dreamhost.

So if you’d like to get it working, place this function in the ‘preference.php’ file, which is located in the setUp folder, and then do a ‘search and replace’ for ‘file_get_contents’ and replace it with ‘file_get_dreamcontents’.

Update: If you can’t find/know your Fickr id (e.g 35468139815@N01), visit idgettr.com.
